I have a feeling this isn't actually borosilicate glass. As far as I know there are two easy methods to tell.1. Heat it up with an open flame, then dip it in water, if it shatters it wasn't borosilicate...duh. This method will potentially destroy it and sounds dangerous so I didn't try it.2.Dip it in Canola oil, or mineral oil which refract light similarly to borosilicate glass. The rod will seem to disappear under the surface. I tried this method and saw no difference between dipping it in water or oil. Two of the three rods look almost like they used to be thermometers because their centers have an empty strip where the thermometer liquid may have been. They all have small bubbles of air / voids as well. So, I'm not positive about these actually being borosilicate, but they still serve their purpose to me though, so I'm not all that disappointed.Be careful if you intend to use these in an actual lab though.
