I have seen cases similar to this on other websites for four times the price. Therefore I believed the other viewers when the claimed that it was made of imitation leather and Plexiglas. I decided that I would purchase this as a temporary storage case for my growing watch collection, and upgrade to a larger case when needed.I was pleasantly surprised. If this is imitation leather, it is a very good imitation. The underside of the box is marked as "leather" instead of "genuine leather", so I guess it is possible that it is not genuine leather, but it does not look cheap.Mine also came with a top that is obviously glass. It is cold to the touch. It squeaks when I run my thumb over it, and it smudges when I do that.It can hold 50mm watches if you angle every other watch to the front and back of the case. Doing so will cause the thicker watches to press against the glass top when the case is closed. There is no play in the inserts or the slots so oversized bands will not fit in them. The inserts fit in the slots tightly enough to hold the watches unclasped, however there will be some play.The case has a cloth strap on your left hand side that keeps the lid from opening too far. The issue that annoyed me about this is that the strap will fold over the watch on that side. That proves to be too much of a distraction for me. I corrected this however, by wrapping some masking tape around the center of the strap. This caused the strap to fold in on itself rather than over the watch.It would have been better if the hinge were prevented from opening too far instead of relying on the strap; however that may have made the price go up. All this being said; this is an elegant case. It has a small footprint, and it looks very good on my dresser.I would recommend this, In fact instead of upgrading to a larger case I got another one of these. They complement each other very well.I was thrilled to find such a nice looking watch case at a reasonable price but it was too good to be true. The case is made with a VERY toxic smelling glue. Almost overpowering. I kept it thinking it would air out and the smell would fade, but over a month later and it still smells horribly. The design is classy and fits my watches as far as width goes, but I am a petite woman and all my watches are very small in scale. I can't imagine putting men's watches in this case as Ithink the watch dials would touch each other. Also, I am unable to close my watch bands around the pillow inserts because the inserts are stiff and my wrist size is small. It's a little frustrating. Lastly, the lid does not want to stay open and there is no metal extension arm to hold it open but merely a cloth ribbon connecting the top lid to the bottom lid (as well as the back hinges). As a previous reviewer noted, you can see the cloth ribbon through the glass. It's a product that with some more thought could be a home run but the manufacturer needs to fine tune the details. I would return it it I hadn't thrown out the box and waited so long in hopes of the smell fading. Pass on this one.First of all, this watch case was shipped promptly and I received a tracking number which allowed me to know when to expect the delivery truck. When I received it, it was just what I'd expected. I wanted a case to store six watches and this one, being shaped the way it is, appeals to me, visually. I didn't want a square, boxy looking case and the curvature on this one is stylish and striking. Additionally, I like the leather exterior and soft lining on the inside to protect your time-keeping investments. The glass top allows enough light through the top to permit me to keep a solar-powered watch charged when it isn't being worn. I have a hiding place for the key near where I keep the case so I can change what I'm wearing depending on my activities or if I just want a different look. All in all, I couldn't be more pleased, especially for the modest price of this very nice watch case.I received the package on time and the quality matches it's description. The leather is nice and the padding on the inside is nice and soft. But when I opened it I noticed that it uses a cloth strap to hold the lid open, not hinges. If you look close enough you can kind of see in the picture on the left side. I didn't think it was a big deal until I put my watches in there and the then strap covers your watch on that side. It just doesn't look good, it looks cheap. The other thing is it's smaller than I thought. I don't have huge face watches 44mm and what not but even that size makes it tuff to put watches in next to each other with out them hitting each other. Good on paper but I'd pass this one up. I've gone ahead and ordered the XL 10 case watch. See how that works out!Watch box came nicely packaged and undamaged. Fits everything from my G-Shock to my Fossil to my Citizen watches (I rotate between watches for certain activities/outfits). I wasn't looking for something crazy expensive. The look/fit/finish all look fine to me. The ribbon strap on the left is alittle distracting but I don't have OCD like some others that have reviewed. My only concern would be the smell. I have no clue why it smells so strong of adhesive, but it does. The smell has dissipated over time, but slowly.This is a decent watch cabinet for the money. The only design feature it is missing is piano hinges. It should have the piano hinge just like a humidor rather than the design it has. But like I said in the title.......it works. I also wish this system for the size and this model came with a accessory drawer on the bottom to house your extra links; pins; and polish cloth. Overall I rank this simple yet effective for what you pay for.The box arrived in great shape and from the outside everything looked great. When I opened it, I noticed there is a silk strap on the left of it to keep the lid from opening all the way. Good thinking, but poor execution. There's really no way to hide that out of sight, and you are left with a random strap on the left side when you are looking into the box from the top.This Item is of decent quality, only thing with the product I received is when open, there is a ribbon that keeps the cover from going all the way back, it seems like its too short because it wont stay open unless I force it back a bit. Most of the time I find myself placing or removing a watch with one hand while holding the lid open with the other.Looks great and more importantly my son now has a place to store his watch collection.
