I purchased 10 lbs thinking I wouldn't use it all. However, I did. My fire pit is 16.5"x16.5" square, 1" deep. The glass comes in a heavy plastic sealed bag. There was no glass shards in the box or on your hands when handling the bag. All the pieces are as described diameter 1/4" to 1/2". As you can see in the pictures the blue is vibrant and very reflective. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quality glass look to replace any boring lava rock any day!
