First: Turns out this is the exact same as the original. What are the chances of that?Second: In reading the reviews before buying this, it seems the biggest problem was the lock pinching when everything was tightened. They all seemed to mention that they had to cut the screws shorter to stop the pinching. When I opened the package it has 3 different sets of screws with different options for length. So it didn't make sense that they need to be cut shorter. When I put it all together sure enough the tighter the screws the tighter the pinch. But it didn't make sense. The handle screws don't even touch the lock mechanism and shorter screws only cause more pinch. So I had to think about it. The only part of the handles that touches the inner lock is the shafts for the hand latch and the key latch. Since the original was the same unit I trimmed the shafts to the same length as the original. Then it dawned on me. I trimmed of 1 more little section of the shaft (on the hand latch side so I could use the original if it didn't work) Sure enough that solved the problem. The pinching problem is those two shafts hitting each other and causing things to bind up a bit. Once they were trimmed to not hit each other they work great. No need for cutting screws. Note: Don't over due it with breaking those tabs off. If you take off to much you're up the creak.Third: Nice unit and very solid.
